In the midst of our daily lives, it’s incredibly easy to lose sight of ourselves amidst all our priorities, but here’s a little secret: your most powerful ally, and the most powerful part of making things happen, is you. When you get in touch with and take care of yourself, you can truly make magic happen!

I, like many women out there, spent years allowing myself to get so wound up in my career and day to day life, that focusing on myself fell to the very bottom of the agenda. Though I achieved goal after goal, the achievements were reduced to nothing more than checkpoints I went hurtling towards. No matter how hard I worked, it just seemed as though I was always trying to keep up, and my body was always struggling to keep up with what I was putting it through!

When wellness entered my life, this all changed… slowly, at first, and then all at once. With each small incremental change, I saw exponential shifts in my perspective and energy levels until I was able to take on more than ever before, and with so much more ease. During the course of my time at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN), this was only further reinforced.

Simply put, I discovered that taking care of yourself, both physically and mentally, is the ultimate form of empowerment to take on just about anything!

This has only proven truer and truer with time, especially after becoming a wife and mother, and fully appreciating the very many varied hats we, as women, wear, even in the course of a single day. But when you invest in yourself, the return is the mental and physical endurance to not just get through each day, but to thrive.

So I urge you not to think of wellness as a number on the scale, working out five days a week, or how many days it’s been since you last made eye contact with a carb, but rather a series of seemingly simple, actionable habits that, when strung together, can change everything. It doesn’t have to be hard, it doesn’t have to be painful, but embarking on a journey to physically and mentally empower yourself is one decision you’ll never regret!

With so much love,

Ishani
